How it all began

Innovative ideas are the driving force behind all business developments. The beginnings of arvato can be traced back to one particularly visionary concept: a consistent focus on how a company can benefit its customers.

Our history began over 175 years ago, when Carl Bertelsmann opened his lithographic printing shop in the East Westphalian town of Gütersloh. After World War II, arvato was established to manage the printing and shipping of books and other printed materials for Bertelsmann’s publishing companies. The company later expanded to provide services for external customers and grew in size and scope, becoming involved in new industries and in the development of innovative products and expanding into other countries until it became what it is today: a unique international service provider that occupies a leading position across a range of market segments and employs over 63,000 people worldwide.

arvato established its finance services business in Dublin’s Eastpoint Business Park in 1996. Over the last 15 years, we have built partnerships with many of the world´s and particular Ireland’s leading companies and public sector bodies, always following our flexible approach to promoting sustainable economic development. arvato Finance is now a full BPO service provider, helping our multinational clients to make the move not only into Europe but also globally, with an established truly global network with hubs in the USA, Brazil, India, Philippines, Singapore and Germany.
