Matthias Mierisch, Chairman and CEO, arvato UK and Ireland

arvato’s experienced management team is led by Matthias Mierisch who has worked for Bertelsmann and arvato companies for more than 20 years. As well as leading the growth of the UK and Ireland business, Matthias also heads up the company’s focus on global BPO.

In the UK, Matthias has successfully restructured arvato, building a strong, thriving business which has grown from a 1,000-strong workforce in 2005 to today’s current total of over 3,000 employees. In the process he has overseen a number of significant acquisitions and BPO contracts and has helped guide arvato’s entry into the increasingly important UK public sector outsourcing market.

On the global BPO front, Matthias established a BPO center of excellence based in Dublin and played a lead role in winning an international outsourcing contract with Microsoft based around transformation, one of Matthias’s key areas of expertise.

Prior to joining arvato, Matthias was CEO and President at Bertelsmann’s BFS finance group, having worked his way up from Managing Director to Vice President. He first joined Bertelsmann in 1988.

Matthias studied law and economics at the University of Bonn in Germany. He is married with two teenage children and enjoys running.
